No. The event is free unless you are an athlete, coach or manager for a team who is competing.
The event starts as of the 13th. Time schedule will be up closer to the event.
All Glamping tents at the Athletes Village have now been sold. However you can still book accommodation. Please click here for further information.
The event concludes on the 20th. Time will be confirmed closer to the event with a schedule.
It is always good to carry ID when attending a large event. There will also be areas for 18+ which will have acholic beverages so ID will be required. Please click here for information on Visa forms and assistance.
Yes. Please note: money will be in Australian (AUD) currency.

Transport within the registration fee includes the following:
- Transport from Cairns Airport to Athletes Village (on nominated day)
- Transport from Athletes Village to the River (on competition days)
- Transport from Athletes Village to Cairns Airport (on nominated day)

There will be food trucks, local cafes and supermarkets in Tully. At the event on the Tully River there will be food trucks which you can purchase lunch and snacks at. We encourage you to bring along snacks.

Athletes will have transport from Cairns Airport to the athletes village in Tully and return on nominated days. All guests and spectators traveling to the event have the opportunity to book airport coach buses, hire cars, Ubers and taxis. Both Cairns Airport and Townsville Airport will have buses specifically running direct routes to Tully. We advise to book your airport transfer as soon as possible.
WRCOC will be providing bus transport from Cairns airport to Tully Athlete’s village for teams and official supporters for three days prior to the competition.

There are currency exchanges within the airport but they will charge transaction fees. Visa and Master-cards are accepted as larger stores. American Express much less so. There will be ATM’s in Tully for you to withdraw money if required.
Greyhound Buses– the bus takes between 1h 40mins and 2h 40mins from Cairns to Tully (some buses go via Mission Beach) – there are a minimum of 3 buses per day both ways. Cost is approximately $30 per adult. The bus stops are the Pier in Central Cairns and Tully Transit Centre (near Athlete’s Village).
Car Hire – a lot of options right from the Cairns airport.

NOTE – Timings for registration may alter when all team arrivals are confirmed
Registration will occur Sunday 12th May 4pm-6pm and Monday 13th May 7am-4pm at the Tully Live Site.
Registration will require all teams members to be in attendance.
- Payment of any outstanding IRF and Event fees – cash only.
- All Team Members will be required to bring their passports.
- Official Team Photo will be taken (bring your flags and wear your uniform).
- Official Supporters will be required to sign in and collect official passes.
All athletes and official supporters have access to the Event buses that will be departing from the Athlete’s Village in Tully. These buses will take you up the river and back home as part of your entry fee. A bus timetable will be available during the event.
Spectators and non-official supporters will be able to purchase a daily or full event bus passes once they get to the Tully Live Site / Athlete’s Village (online may be available as well – TBA). This will allow them to travel via the event buses to and from the River Event Site.
The Tully Gorge Road will be closed from the Bridge approximately 5km below the River Event Site for the duration of the event 13th-20thMay. For the safety of all staff, competitors and spectators; only official event vehicles will be able to access the road past the road block. There will be a carpark at the Bridge for any vehicles that have come from Echo Creek Area or Tully. You will be able to get on the Event Buses as they come past the road block if you park in the carpark.
All competitors and official supporters will have lunch and dinner catered for in their entry fees. All other supporters and spectators will be able to purchase meal tickets prior to the event (more information about how to do this will follow)
- Breakfast– The amazing Rotary Club in Tully will be putting on big spread for breakfast each morning at the Athlete’s Village / Tully Live Site at a very reasonable price. This is the only meal not included in your entry / registration fee. Please click here for further information and the menu.
- Lunch– will be taken with you up the river each day (more details to follow about lunch collection).
- Dinner– will be held at the Athlete’s Village / Tully Live Site each evening.

There will be food vans at both the River Event Site and the Tully Live Site each day, providing an amazing range of hot and cold beverages, local foods, healthy foods and traditional fair foods for your consumption. All being provided by our amazing local businesses from Tully and Mission Beach! There is no way you will go hungry during Tully WRC2019.
There are many places within Tully, Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast Region which you can book accommodation. There is also some Air BNB’s available. We recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible as we wouldn’t want you to miss out. Click here for accommodation within the Cassowary Coast Region.
